I know, I know...

...it's been awhile since I've posted anything. Every time I have talked to someone, they have all told me that I haven't posted for awhile. It's only been 12 days! Cameron lovingly reminds that I need to post something. I guess that is how it started out, now I've been getting threats from him that if I don't post something, he will... Probably post one of those fun pictures of me sleeping that every husband likes to get. The kind when you have a really long day and you end up falling asleep on the couch, drooling with your mouth open and you have rubbed your eyes so your mascara is smeared all around...Yeah, one of those.

So here's what we have been up to...
In the three weeks we have been here, we have already had 2 house
guests, Cameron's mom and his friend Ryan. That's a really good trick to get everything unpacked really fast. Invite people to come and stay with you. Then tomorrow, Cameron's parents, two of his sisters, and his youngest brother are all coming for Christmas.

Riley has learned how to do head stands in the corner. Coleman taught her. She just goes up to a corner and will hang out there for awhile upside down.

Zack thought it would be fun to have a candlelight dinner. So we did.

We've been painting, A LOT, and we aren't anywhere close to being done. I always thought that I didn't mind painting, but I have changed my mind. I don't like it, at all. Especially when you can only do it at night when the kids have gone to bed. Cameron's mom helped me paint these book shelves for the office. We painted the morning room wall. It was really bright outside when I took this picture, so you can't see the color very well. We had originally bought a darkish orangish brownish color. But I started to freak out that it was going to be to brown. So we had it retinted with a little more red. Now it's a orangish redish color. The original color I wanted was a burnt pumpkin color, but I think this turned out good and we really like it. Who knew painting could be so romantic. It took almost four coats to cover this.
I made curtains so the neighbor can't see in. Cameron helped me sew them...Yes, Cam can sew. Shhh....don't tell.

Our really boring, really plain Christmas tree finally made it up. The only thing on there are the lights. That's about all that is going to go on there this year. Next year will be it's extravagant year!

Of course, half our days are filled with figuring out those stupid Transformers. Many tears of frustration have been shed for those things. In our experience, it really does take a Ph.D. to figure them out. But, they are a 5 year olds best friend.

Your house is gorgeous. Go Cam, on the sewing and romantic painting. As far as Transformers are concerned I agree with you. Collin is getting about 10 from Santa that is ALL he wants.

We miss you. Garrett keeps asking "Riley, where? Mama?" :) We'll be up to visit when we get back from NH.
Merry Christmas and enjoy your company.

Yeah, a blog update! I'm totally with you on the painting. I used to think it was no big deal until I had to paint the entire freakin' house. I told DJ that next time, we're hiring a painter and I don't care how much it costs.

I'm assuming it's probably a lot like moving...you think you can make it work and save all this money and when it's finally finished you're thinking, "We'll hire the next time around...not worth the time and stress and dealing with kids in the process.":) Your house looks amazing, though, and I can't wait for next year's extravagant tree.:) When you're all finished with furniture, etc., you HAVE to post some pictures pretty please! Did Cameron make those bookshelves? I have a feeling he did! You guys are amazing! Way to go!

If Carly and Lindsay are coming up, you should have the two of them paint. They could have it done in two days. Make them earn their keep. I hope you guys have a great Christmas and wish we could be there with the rest of the group.
