we're up and blogging...

Well, I finally made it. After signing up about 3 months ago, I am now actually posting something. Yeah me! The problem was, I got caught up reading everybody else's blogs and always ran out of time to do mine. Cameron says that I am addicted to reading blogs, and it's true, I CAN'T STOP! I need help. Anyway, we figured this was a great way for us to update people on what is happening in our lives, since we are so far away from EVERYONE!!! So, I will get everyone up to speed on what is happening.

First the kids...

Zack is 7 and will be starting the 2nd grade in a few weeks. He is the responsible one. He's missing 4 1/2 teeth right now and thinks it's very cool. His favorite past-time is playing XBOX. It is like a drug to him! He can't get enough. His favorite games are the Lego Star Wars games. Forget about video games being something that is lazy and makes you dumb...this kid jumps around like he is one of the characters in the game. He is also very good at analyzing the whole thing. There is no way he will get out of shape or loose brain cells.

Then there is Coleman, who is 4. We absolutely love Coleman! He is smart, funny, helpful, and LOVES his family. He is also a very emotional child. We always joke that he is a 13 year old girl stuck in a 4 year old boy's body. One minute everything is great, and the next his whole world is crashing down around him. He loves to play XBOX with Zack. Zack even taught him his trick for playing really well, which is to do exactly what your character is doing. So, if your guy jumps, then you jump. They both are hopping around the t.v. the whole time. Coleman loves to draw, but it's only ever a picture of one thing--a Spinosaurus (dinosaur). He is very proud of each one that he draws.

Next we have Riley, 2. She is our loud child. She yells everything. I thought at one point that maybe she couldn't hear anything, and that she was just being loud so she could hear herself. Come to find out, she can hear fine, she just likes to yell. She loves purses, dolls, my kitchen towels for wrapping up her dolls, and doing whatever I am doing. She is my shadow.

Finally, Maren, who is almost 10 months old. She is very sweet and mellow. She is what every mother needs as their 4th child. Her latest tricks are crawling at lightning speed, standing up without holding onto anything--for about 30 seconds, and giving very big, very wet kisses. Sometimes, she gets so excited when someone plays with her that she throws up! I'm not quite sure if that's a trick, but it's pretty funny.

As for us...I just like doing everything. Going to the park, making new things (newest endeavor, concrete counter tops), photography, singing endless verses of Old MacDonald and Popcorn Popping, and going through tons of furniture magazines and tearing out what I want Cameron to make me. We're counting down the days to when Cameron will be done with school, (we are down to weeks!!) and counting down the days to when they are going to start building our house, (we are down to days!!) See picture. Cameron is working hard at school. He leaves early and comes home late--about 12-14 hours per day, including Saturdays. He has been working one day a week at his job and really likes the work, the people, and is excited to start working there every day. Cameron has a ton of hobbies. So we decided the other day, since he does so many things, to lump together and that his hobby is "making stuff."

Ok, you made it through. I promise that the rest aren't going to be so long. Just wanted to play catch up for a minute. And so you know, I expect comments!!

Now I am inspired to start my own blog (as if I didn't have enough projects). I think Cameron and I have the same hobbies. I just love to "make stuff." I am so excited to come out this Christmas. I can't wait to see what you post next. (No pressure.)
