Create inspiring, noble & righteous goals that fire your imaginations & create excitement in your heart.
Joseph B. Wirthlin

I finally feel like I'm getting some things done. Once I get the enrichment birthday dinner out of the way, I think more things will also come together faster. When we moved into this ward, we found out REALLY quick how bad it was suffering from lack of people and "normal" people. I hate to say that, but it really is one of those "mission field" wards. When we moved in, we went to church the first week, the next week before church they called me as the 2nd counselor in the RS presidency. I feel like there is a lot of pressure to make enrichment nights good because NO ONE shows up for them. Last activity we had, 4 people showed up. Talk about tough crowd! Since I can't do things the easy way, I've made everyone an invitation and I'll probably be delivering half of them myself to their homes.

We will also be finishing our basement next week. Cameron's brother, Dallin and his family are all coming out. Dallin is a speed framer and he's going to help Cameron get it done fast! (right Dallin!) We went through and got everything priced out - that was a job! But we have a budget and we are sticking to it!

This is part of the basement that Cameron and his dad did during Christmas. Cameron got his man cave back. Cameron even got me a plaque for it! Because I was excited to have that space as part of the finished part, but I love my husband A LOT! (I'm pretty sure I rolled my eyes when he gave it to me.)

Jim built all of these storage shelves, which I love!

I got the boys room painted and I'm half way through making them real bedding. They have always used little quilts or old sleeping bags. Not because of us - in our defense - they liked it that way. They should soon have matching beds! Pictures to come for sure after that mountain has been climbed!

I also set up blogs for the kids. Since I am always on here, I figured it was a good way to do a journal for them. I am hoping it will be easy to keep up with since I haven't been very good about sitting down and writing things in their books. And typing is just SO much easier and faster! At the end of a year I will blurb it so they will have it for them. And then for us, I will just combine it all into one book.

So here's to my goals for the next month or so!!!

Game On, Steph. I'll be jealous when Dallin and Cathy are there and I am not. Dallin is speedy and you will get a lot done. The RS birthday party sounds good. I hope the president will let you have a little fun. It sounds like you are going to have a purse scavenger hunt. Spring always make me excited to dig in and finish some projects. (Though I think you got about 3 feet of snow in the last couple of days. it was all over the news.

First of all... I totally know what you mean about "that" kind of ward. We are totally in one right now. :) I know the dinner will be awesome, because YOU are the one planning it. :) I always love anything you are a part of planning (loved the VT conference you did! Tough act to follow!). Can't wait to see your bedding! And, I would make my husband a huge man-cave too, if I got to dictate projects like you do, and have him DO them and do them AWESOME! You both are so talented!

So you need to come to our ward for a few weeks...I won't deny it, I never go to Enrichment night because they are so not very exciting....Maybe I should change my attitude. Anyway, love all your creativity. I only wish your little brother got even a small bit of that gene.

Go-Fight-Win!! Your ward is so lucky to have you. Love the birthday dinner invite and good luck with everything! What a mom! I can't believe...well, I can, that you are making ALL of the kids bedding. After reading this, I feel like tackling something big!

I can totally relate to working with someone very difficult. I am in the primary presidency and the president is a "nazi" I'm not kidding she makes kids cry,not want to come to church, etc. It is lovely! ADORABLE invites. YOur ward needs great people like the Pedersen's!

LOVE the idea of the blogs for the kids... that is super! Great way to get their "stuff" written down. Way cute invites also - hopefully you'll be able to squeeze a little fun into the evening - between the lectures. :)

I love that quote by Elder Wirthlin. That's exactly how I feel when I have a project I love. I am so happy for your family for the much anticipated man cave. Is it like the bat cave? Does Cameron have a secret entrance and a Man-mobile? Do you get to be his sidekick and hand him tools and wood and stuff?

Love the "Man Cave" plaque! Good luck with all of your projects! I'm working on bedding for baby #2 right now. Can I just say I hate making bumpers?!

Good for you! I bet you feel like you are on your mission again, huh? Your hard work and dedication will definitely pay off.
Yeah for you on the basement! I LOVE that you made that plaque...you two are so funny! Yes, I cannot wait for pics of the bedding either! Man you are inspiring! Keep the fire going girl!
PS-Love the pics of the boys below with their teeth...they are so funny!

OK Steph, I think about everything you do is pretty spectacular. How fabulous to have an unfinished basement as your canvas. Go Dallin!
Request: I would like a rerun of the photo shoot of your washer and dryer. I want to just sit and look at it from different angles this time. If I had your w&d, I would watch it instead of a movie. (I do have the style but not the color).
